We’re Proud to Announce Our Newest Offering: SMaKK Sites

SM&KK Studios is excited to introduce you to our newest offering: SMaKK Sites.

Believe us, we understand just how tough it can be to find business solutions that are the right size for a growing company. You feel a little like Goldilocks: everything’s either made for someone five times your size or it has so many constraints that you know you’ll outgrow it in a month.

So we asked ourselves: does SM&KK Studios do enough for our fellow  mid-range businesses, all those companies out there who’ve outgrown their themplated, cookie-cutter, or out-dated websites, but don’t need a massive, enterprise solution?

We’re on the Dieline

The packaging we designed for Spout Skincare is featured today on the Dieline.com, our favorite packaging blog:

“We use the simplest possible blends of sustainable, truly all-natural ingredients to create products that heal instead of harm. For the redesign of Sprout Skincare’s packaging, we wanted to highlight the values of the brand, the simplicity of our production methods, and the purity of our ingredients. The sophisticated, green-minded consumers that love our products easily see through gimmicks and green-washing, so to connect with our no-frills fans, we kept it simple. Like our brand, our hand-drawn logo is inspired by a time before factory production methods. Our glass-bottle jars put the product on display and avoid the potential dangers of plastic alternatives. To highlight our small-batch methods, and personal commitment to quality, we sign and date each individual bottle we produce. And because our products are “made simply with only” the fewest, best ingredients, we proudly put our ingredient list on the front of our package instead of relegating it to 4-point type on the back. ”

The Web Typography Revolution

For years, typography has been a real roadblock to great web design. To go beyond the limited selection of “web safe” fonts, designers have been forced into some awkward makeshift solutions. But those days are finally over. With the advent of CSS @font-face and webfont technology providers, like Typekit and Font Squirrel, designers and site owners now have access to a wide-open field of typefaces.
